URBAN ECHOES

“Cities speak in lines, curves, and reflections — if you stop to listen.” — Sofia Laurent

From bustling streets to quiet corners, this series captures the rhythm of city life. Every photograph turns ordinary architecture and fleeting human moments into stories frozen in time. The play of structure, geometry, and contrast reveals a world often overlooked, giving buyers the chance to bring the pulse of the city into their own space.

EPHEMERAL BEAUTY

“Some moments vanish in an instant — but photography makes them eternal.” — Sofia Laurent

Dedicated to capturing the transient — morning light on dew, petals caught in motion, ripples across water — this series preserves beauty that would otherwise be lost. These images remind us that even the smallest details carry extraordinary grace, transforming passing moments into lasting art.

MEET THE ARTIST

Don Wass

My paintings are primarily an exploration of how color, texture, and composition work together in a shallow space. Simple shapes against a background of loose form and color, and paint that fluctuates between ragged-edged and raw, to hard-edged and refined continue to challenge me.

For most of my painting career I have worked in a series of paintings that push me to explore a set of ideas until I'm not learning anything new, I'm bored, I'm not at least a little surprised by what I see happening in the paintings, or I'm afraid to go any further. It takes a number of paintings to experiment with all the possibilities of a given set of ideas. Each of these paintings are created by applying many layers of acrylic on heavy Arches paper.

When I was a little boy, I loved reading comic books and would try to understand the story just by looking at the pictures—I actually hated reading the text. Looking back, I wish someone had realized and explained to me that I was a visual learner. It would have made school a lot easier to navigate.

“My Artistic practice is a continuous chase for that elusive feeling when everything finally comes together just right"

“If you could say it in words there would be no reason to paint. Edward Hopper

“The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls"
